KW Players represent in 4th Annual Jr. NLL Tournament

3 KW Braves received the honor of being chosen to represent on 3 different teams in the 4th Annual Jr NLL Tournament in Oakville on Aug. 26-28, 2016.


Dylan Kuntz was picked up for a 2nd year by the Jr Rochester Knighthawks, playing in the midget division this year.  Ryan "Ryno" Bordon was selected by Jr. Toronto Rock Peewee team and Ownen "Whitey" Moore was chosen by the Jr. Buffalo Bandit Peewee team.


Jr NLL teams are from across Canada and the USA in the peewee, bantam and Midget divisions. They compete throughout the weekend following NLL rules and coached by NLL players and coaches.  Teams in attendance also included the Colorado Mammoth, Georgia Swarm, New England Black Wolves, Philadelphia Wings, Saskatchewan Rush and the Jr Edmonton team.


Day 1 not only entailed round robin games but a BBQ and skills competition allowed selected players to represent their respective team.  Peewee division, in which Owen Moore had the pleasure of partaking, was a furthest distance challenge on who could score from the farthest distance on an empty net.  Whitey actually had a closer shot than his team coach, and former KW Brave, Ryan Benesch. Bantam players got to pair up with their NLL player coach in an accuracy contest and the midgets got to battle as to who had the fastest shot.     

Day 2 saw more round robin and quarter final action along with autograph sessions throughout the day with celebrity NLL players.   

Day 3 ended with semi and finals where all 3 Jr Toronto Rock divisions claiming the championships this year stealing the title from the Jr. Rochester Knighthawks who held the title in all 3 divisions last year.
